This summer, the Vipers U24s stepped up in place of the TyneMet Veterans League, after a shortage of players meant fixtures were restructured into preseason friendlies. Far from being fazed, the squad rose to the occasion, putting on a string of impressive performances against the Hartlepool Huskies, Oxclose Sharks, Bald Eagles, and Hadrian Hillbillies.

The opening clash against the Hartlepool Huskies set the tone, with the Vipers securing a commanding 72–40 victory. Ty Dobson was in outstanding form, taking home the MVP award for his all-round performance.

Next up were the Oxclose Sharks, who pushed the Vipers all the way in a tightly contested encounter. Thanks to composure under pressure and some key moments from MVP Tommy Thompson, the team edged out a well-earned 72–66 win.

The third matchup against the Bald Eagles proved to be one of the highlights of the summer. The Vipers produced a dominant display at both ends of the court, securing a very impressive victory that showcased the team’s growing confidence and chemistry.

Finally, the U24s closed out the series against the Hadrian Hillbillies, finishing strong with a convincing 78–42 win to cap off a successful run of games.

More important than the scores, however, has been the spirit shown both on and off the court. The Vipers continue to build friendships along the way, demonstrating that teamwork, positivity, and love for the game are at the heart of everything we do.

The future looks bright for this talented U24s group — and this summer’s results are proof that they are ready to take the next step together.
